Aptamer Group plc has launched a new targeted radiopharmaceutical programme in collaboration with Radiopharmium Ltd, aiming to build a proprietary pipeline of four radiotherapy assets with in vivo data expected by the end of 2026. This initiative focuses on three high-value clinical indications, leveraging Aptamer's Optimer® platform to address limitations in current targeting technologies within the approximately US$7.5 billion radiopharmaceuticals market. Comparative testing demonstrated that Lu-177 Optimer®-based radioligands showed only 8% degradation in the absence of ascorbic acid, significantly outperforming leading peptide comparators which experienced 34-83% degradation, suggesting potential for improved shelf life, reduced waste, and simplified handling.
